I have been BEYOND busy … so my apologies to those few who read my blog. Between trying to make and place the 8 freebies for my SEAS*ons Greetings Campaign (get it? SEAS – ya… i know *shrugs) and then placing them throughout the Merseum – AND trying to get the PhotoContest rules and whatnot contest out..

OK … so anyways Friday.. Dawne IMs me with the news that Bettie Paige passed… and OK I admit it… i was like “who”? – then a quick google… well.. I knew the model and the poses… damn that woman… killer… but I never her name…

Yup – so little miss Dawne declares she is gonna do a Photo tribute to her… well.. *coughs* one thing led to another… and there I am animating statics, trying to capture the nuances – the quickly throwing up “sets” to try to mimic the actual pinup shot…

ok well here’s the first… ummm its a nudie… so curb the kids..

i did minor retouching on the Dawne as Bettie shots… mainly hiding prim hair that was poking out of skin and converting to black and white. but other than that..

So What?!

For the past 6 weeks or so (just shortly after my jaunt to Tampa) – it has been my goal to “keep busy” in-world as to not ponder or pout about some recent events. During this time BlessUs4 and No More (herein after BU4) has rapidly increased its sellable inventory, and I’ve created over 2 dozen animated sits/stands/crouches and about the same number of static poses. BU4 now has 6 completed sets and I have a healthy stockpile of “work in progress” sets

Altho currently most anims/statics are buried in my inventory along with their relevant stages of development…(Hey you never know when u need an animation where the right arm is twisted beyond normal tortures and the left hand is reaching into the belly)

So ya having one part of SL^TM life totally collapse has been semi-inspirational and extremely therapeutic for me. And sometimes you just need a little humor to get you thru the rough spots. Oiy! and what a rough patch it was for me this past week – Thank you Jack and M for creating and inducing more Drama on the grid – most companies just cast a pebble into the sea of calm and watch the ripples – You guys – tossed in a boulder and went for the tsunami affect/effect. Bravo :/

With everything swirling around my head and laying heavy in my heart – Pink’s number 1 single “So What” has kinda become my personal anthem.. to me it’s a song about surviving..whatever life or love flings at you… and well I may not be “a rock star” but I have built rocks.

Me (with a still upper lift and contemplating a stiff drink in hand): “heh, so what I am a rock star, I got my rock moves”

Misty H: “*snorts* If i see you in the middle of a road on a lawn mower drinking beer, we got problems!”

Me: “what about that tractor at Mystical… close enuff??? OK now there’s a theme building idea… do all the elements of Pinks So What video… I’ll do a media link to the video… have it run in all the key spots… the tat store.. the guitar store – hollywood blvd… the restaurant… the hair dressers… “

OK so that was the *spark ummm. Call it inspiration.. Bolstered on by both Misty and Robin Roar … I found myself running to a RL coworker’s office and asking him – to show me how to hold a chainsaw… then cut down a tree… (everyone blame Barry if I totally got the physics wrong on the movement) –

Well one thing led to another… I had my “start” animation set… I had to build a chainsaw (Anyone say ONE word about what a crappy build the chainsaw will be entitled to a FULL refund of the final product *chuckles)… retweak the start pose and spend a little more time in Qavimator to complete the sequence…and a low prim tree (ok – umm “so what” it’s pink.. please fill out a notecard requesting a full refund) … that would be able to “get chopped down” (easy enough – Puppeteer to the rescue – Thanks for making it easy)… and last night the preview of the almost completed draft was debuted in world.

Now – I’ve head great fun with this little skit… and it was extremely educational. And it has a few quirks in it… Anyone can touch the tree to have it fall down… You have to touch the tree while on the animation ball at approximately the time of the first “sniffle” etc.. The Tree is pink.. I’m sure the cut on the tree and the angle of entry with the blade is off too! (thus the FULL money back guarantee if NOT completely satisfied) I also know it’s 15 minutes of fame will be fleeting (or actually has passed during its debut) – so – I’m setting it out as a freebie! Yes a whopping $0L and this can be yours.. The Skit will include the animated tree, the wearable chainsaw and the pose ball with the looped avatar animation.. History of the Merseum and Oceanic Gardens part 1

Part 1

I can’t recall the exact date … but the IM went something like

Robin: Mainland for sale $5888 for a 512

(ok trust me – back in March 2007 that was a “great” price for mainland just slightly over 10$L/sm)

At the time I was renting a 1024 with double prim on one of the Azure Islands where I had kept my home and spent my quiet times with Ren. So the thought of owning Mainland was quiet tempting.. Robin TP’d me into Corinaldo- I surveyed the area – and quickly grabbed 4 x 512s … OK sooooooooo it was designated “water land” by LL - Terraforming above sealevel was out of the question. Great.. 2048sm of grey murky water (pre-Windlight ya know). I promptly joined 2 of the 512s and Renamed the Land “Living Life UnCorked II” -

I didn’t think much about what I was going to do with it.. I was just learning how to build – so if anything I knew that maybe I could use it as a private sandbox.

Being a Beach Baby – spending summers at the Jersey Shore from infancy till I left NJ at age 27 – I did what felt natural, instinctual perhaps, and set off to make a sand castle.

During the same time as buying this Mainland “folly” Ren was opening his first Tattoo Store – and a very unique customer came in… A mermaid..Anya..she was extremely pleasant and delightful to chat with. Shortly after that Ren had mentioned that Anya was telling him that there were very few mer friendly areas in SL and with the waterland perhaps just decorating the area.. put in some information on mermaids.. and make it a tourist type of area. Expressing the idea to my friends who had all bought land in Corinaldo – the idea seemed to be agreeable – especially to Misty who’s land ran adjacent to mine… and off we went to discover what was available as far as poseballs and decorations…and TAILS…

Now if I recall correctly - “back in the day” if you searched Mermaid in SL^{TM ‘}s Search Engine under Places.. it came up with probably 10-15 different locations. First Stop – Erluen Twins MerWing’s in Panda Shores… Loaded up with a set of Irridescent Tails – a Mer AO (which btw I used up until a two months ago when I finally came up with my own AO), a new group <MERGE> , and about 7 or 8 animations to use in pose balls. We had a good start.

Umm “Hello World”

Yup another blog rotating around the Second Life ^TM metaverse. But, hey, couldn’t help myself (nor could i deal with hearing myself say yet again… “ya know, I should blog”) thus the Birth of Second Tail’s Tales.

Perhaps I’ve fooled a few people to thinking I am a scripter in Second Life ^TM but I am not… Scripts are beyond me… I’ve attended many classes – just never grasped the whole logic thing..

Me.. I mostly animate for mer – started out of necessity over a 18 months ago.. come to think of it… back when there were only a few places that were mer friendly (more on my personal history of THE MERSEUM AND OCEANIC GARDENS at a later post) and I’ve recently been having fun doing human animations with a bit of Neko flair with BLESS US 4 and NO MORE. (lol and yup more where that name came from later too)

Hopefully I’ll be able to do all the fun things with this blog that everyone else does.. *that’s a hint btw.

*chuckles a bit thinking “the early bird may get the worm.. but the second mouse gets the cheese”
